Daniel Gajewski, 90, peacefully passed away on February 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease. Born in Needville, TX to Michael and Anna Gajewski, Daniel loved the outdoors and was a curious lad, especially with insects, so much so, that he was given the nickname "Bugs". It was appropriate that Daniel's birthday often coincided with Thanksgiving because so many people were thankful that he was there for them doing whatever he could to help. As a teenager, after the death of his father, he took on the responsibility of farming to help his mother. As a young adult, he met the love of his life, Beverly Hauerland, who became his wife, where they settled in Rosenberg. He devoted many years supporting his wife and three sons, Randy, Rick, and Rusty. He was also a surrogate father to his niece, Cookie (Joyce) Cavey. After retiring early as a manufacturing plant foreman, Daniel always maintained his love of ranching, hunting, and fishing. Some of his favorite times were spent at his ranch in North Zulch where he raised cattle, had adventures hunting wild hogs, and fishing. Even after the difficulties of Parkinson's appeared, Daniel loved to spend the day with his sons at the ranch or taking drives around where he grew up. Daniel's most recent blessing was being the star of his 90th birthday celebration where he was able to meet, for the first time, his two great granddaughters and spend time with close family friends.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, and son, Rusty. He is survived by his sons, Randy, and Rick (Maggie), two grandsons, Zach (Lorrin), and Justin (Genessi), and two great grandchildren, Haley, and Alina. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Reynolds and Cecelia Krolczyk, and several other nieces and nephew.
Services will be held at 10am Friday, March 8 at the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
A special thanks to Elizabeth Williams, Mary Ekwuruke and staff at Reliable Oaks in Needville for their dedicated care.
