Was thinking of the Captain today, and broke down in tears once again. He was more than a radio personality, he was a good friend, and I am honored to have known him and called him my friend. Thanks for the memories, Cap'n.

I am stunned and heartbroken! I have listened to "Captain Dan" every morning for years. He made his audience feel like we were his friends. I'm so sorry for his loss. Prayers for "The Lovely Mary Kay" and the entire family.

Dear Geary Family. Any the peace of Christ, which is above all that one can possibly imagine, be with you in this most darkest of time. I was a classmate of Dan´s at Prep (67). We were also fellow band members there as well. Needless to say, Dan was the wittiest of the group, entertaining us on all our bus trips. His leadership of the "Prep Cheer- leaders" got the entire school hyped up for every sporting event. We have lost an invaluable and irreplaceable friend. I am honored to serve at his funeral mass at St. Julia´s. RIP Captain. I´m sure that the "Good Lord" took a liking to you, just as you had wished your listeners, on each sign-off.

Dan was a loveable and very jovial person making listening to oldies more fun than I ever imagined. Dan, thanks for making oldies "radio-active". I can't wait to meet you up there.

To The Geary Family,
My sadness is wordless. Listened to him for as long as I as can remember, especially loved him and the rest of the DJs on WMCE. Met Dan at the First Gobbler Golf Gathering, Elk Valley, 20 some years ago, my pleasure. So loved is he by an ENTIRE community and MANY all over the world. God be with you all.

Dear family of Dan,
First of all I want to send my sincere condolences across the miles since I can´t be there to meet you and give you a sympathy hug.
I met Dan back in the early 70s when he was a disc jockey at WWGO. He was a good friend and we had a lot in common...especially the both of us being Irish we both wore the Claddagh ring.
He had the best voice... perfect for being a disc jockey!
I had the best time sitting there in the studio listening to all the albums and the favorites he played for me.
I moved away but stayed in touch for a short time and then we both got on with our lives.
I will surely miss his smile, his laughter and the kind person he was!
Rest in peace "Captain Dan"... see you on the other side!
