Daniel R. Gill Sr.-also fondly known as Dan, age 67, passed away September 25, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born May 25, 1957 in Stoneham, MA, son of the late James Leo Gill and Virginia A. (Trahan) Gill.
Dan was one of five children in his family and grew up on Bernaby Ln. in Kingston, NH. He was passionate and enthusiastic about sports from an early age, that continued throughout his whole life and later passed through the generations to his children and grandchildren. Dan was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, Class of 1976. He was named All-State in football and All-American in baseball during those years. In 1981, his world would forever change when he met Donna Spiker, the love of his life and wife-to-be. They wed on October 6, 1984 and had the opportunity to travel the country as part of his career before settling in Brentwood, NH where they have resided for 31 years. Professionally, Dan worked in the trades for nearly 50 years and was a proud member of Local 17. He was a safety director and longtime project manager for New England Insulation. He held many certifications in protection and other various trainings. His skill set allowed him to always be "The Man to Lend a Helping Hand" for his loved ones and many who were fortunate to call him a friend. Dan was dedicated to his wife, children and grandchildren. He coached countless teams for his children and was a fixture at all his grandchildren's events. He loved his dogs and taking them on "puppy walks". Dan enjoyed tending to his yard and was often found snow-blowing or cutting the lawn of someone who was unable at that time. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Donna Gill, son Daniel Gill Jr and his longtime partner Ashyana, daughter Krista Wooles and her husband Tyler Wooles and their daughter Madelyn, daughter Jenna Gill and her fiance Michael Bruno and children Brooklyn and Kamden, his "Bonus-Mom" Joanne Gill, sister Debbie Powell and husband Jimbo Powell, sister Donna Carter and husband Grant Carter, brother Jimmy Gill, sister Kelly LaVallee and husband Brian LaVallee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter, NH.
