Michael R. Gray Funeral Home - OwingsvilleDaniel Webb Goodpaster Jr. 48, of Olympia, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He was born on March 20, 1977, in Morehead, Kentucky. The son of Debbie King Cord and the late Daniel Webb Goodpaster.
Daniel worked as a Material Handler at JM Smucker Co. in Lexington, for several years.
Beyond work, Daniel was passionate about the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to relish the beauty of nature. Additionally, he had a deep affection for sports, particularly enjoying watching UK basketball. In his younger years, he also found joy in playing baseball.
He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Webb Goodpaster, as well as his paternal grandparents, Sherman Goodpaster II and Ella Goodpaster, and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan King and his loyal black lab Mia.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Debbie King Cord (George Mikolai); his sister, Jennifer Goodpaster (Ryan Block), both of Lexington, Kentucky. He was a proud uncle to his niece and nephews, Corey, Tristan, Bauer and Ellison Block. Daniel is also survived by his aunts, Cindy Collins (Randall), Lisa Hehemann (Andy), cousin, Marcelle Doggett, as well as a special friend, Heather Hatton, along with numerous cousins and friends who will remember him fondly. The family would like to thank the friends that were there for him in his time of need.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 10:00 AM - 12 noon on Saturday, October 11th.
A memorial service to honor Daniel’s life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12 noon at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Deacon Bill Grimes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Christian Social Service Center at PO Box 1111, Owingsville, KY 40360
