Daniel Lewis Harrison, age 99 of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Funeral service will be held 4:30 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Roswell Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Moran officiating. Burial will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Mr. Harrison was born in Lake Worth, Florida and served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a Radio Operator and Side Gunner on B 17, and was a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War. He married Patricia Brocato September 12, 1952 and he earned his Under Graduate degree from Emory University with a BS in education and his Masters of Education at Georgia State. Mr. Harrison retired from the Cobb County School System as Senior Counselor working at North Cobb and Osborne High Schools,
and was an inactive Deacon at Roswell Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Harrison loved to camp, hike, and travel, and was very involved with his grandchildren. He always attended their extracurricular activities.
Mr. Harrison is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Harrison, son David Harrison, and brother Bruce Harrison. He is survived by his son Andy Harrison (Mary); daughter Susan Harrison; sister Ellen Williams; grandchildren Jessica Knight, Christie Knight, Sidney Harrison, Susie Mieles, and Daniel Mieles; great grandchildren Savannah Knight, William Knight, Noah Knight, and Ozzy Mieles.
The family will greet friends at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Roswell Street Baptist Church.
