Daniel Robert Helmlinger

Daniel Robert Helmlinger, known by the many that loved him as Danny, passed away on February 5, 2025. Born on April 5,1996, Danny was raised in Ringwood, New Jersey and lived an exhilarating life full of endless laughter, infinite love and of course, fast cars.
Growing up, Danny had a passion for taking things apart and putting them back together. He turned this passion into his career, becoming a brilliant craftsman and mechanic. While he never cared much for school, he was naturally clever and would outsmart everyone in the room around him.
As he grew, so did his love for cars and motorcycles. In his early twenties, he and a few buddies rented an empty auto shop in West Milford, where he spent many nights working on his passion projects. He also spent long hours at the track with his dearest friends, which scared his parents constantly, but that hobby became his life and that track, his second home.
Growing up, he was a bit quiet and shy but when he warmed up to you, his impression was unforgettable. He had a sharp wit and great sense of humor that he used to express how much he loved those around him. His smile, often surrounded by a scruffy beard in his adulthood, would shine bright wherever he was. He was loyal and would do absolutely anything for his friends and family.
Throughout his life, Danny made remarkable connections with friends. His friends were family to him, and the friendships he forged throughout his life helped shape him into the man he became.
Danny came from a large and loving family. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Colleen and Jon Helmlinger, his six siblings, Jeffrey Bakker, Amy Klypka, Kurt Helmlinger, Matthew Helmlinger, Kenneth Helmlinger and Meagen Helmlinger, his lovable and energetic golden retriever, Kobe, and several nieces and a nephew.
To say Danny will be missed is an understatement. The memories of his brightness, charm and laughter will be cherished and held close by so many.
A public viewing for Danny will be held at Scanlan's Funeral Home in Pompton Plains, New Jersey on Monday, February 10 from 6:00-9:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, where Danny adopted his beloved Kobe.
