Daniel A. Hondo
Oct. 14, 1946 - Aug. 17, 2024
BURLEY – Daniel Allen Hondo, Dad and Grandpa, of 77 years, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Twins Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia.
Dan was born October 14, 1946, in Rupert, Idaho, the son of August Tokuo and Akiye (Ishino) Hondo. He graduated from Minico High School - Class of 1964, and subsequently attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, prior to graduating from the College of Southern Idaho. Dan started farming about the time he graduated from high school and continued until 2020.
He married Kristine King, and they had two sons: Dewayne and Brooks.
Dan had a passion for farming, always improving his operation with new techniques and technology. His hobbies were traveling the backroads, eating at out of the way spots, and getting into the backcountry. Early on, that was snowmobiles, then four-wheelers, and, in his later years, RZRs. He had a lot of adventures, countless stories, knew the best places to eat, and he made a lot of great friends along the way.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, August and Akiye; and his wife, Kris.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley (Warren) Murata; his travel companion and partner in crime, Cindy Moyle; sons: Dewayne (Tammy) Hondo and Brooks Hondo; and lastly, by his two granddaughters: Aralyn and Sicily, who he made more memories with than we can count and who were the light of his life.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Burley United Methodist Church, located at 450 E. 27th Street, with the Rev. Kenneth Haftorson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.
Family and friends will be received from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the church.
Immediately following the graveside service, all are welcome and invited to a celebration of life at Top Notch Event Center, located at 2500 Washington Avenue, in Burley.

The Hondo family were great neighbors to my Grandfather and Grandmother, James & Camila Bronson. My Father and Mother had great respect for Danny and Kris Hondo. The Payette Bronson's Dick, Marcy, Jim, Carie and Adam have lost a great friend. He will be missed.
