Beloved husband of 42 years to Cheryl Ivol. Loving father to Tanner Ivol and Kendra (Brett) Hancher. Brother of the late Joan Cusick. Cherished Pop-pop to Wade Hancher and Palmer Hancher.
Dan graduated from Mount Lebanon High School, and went on to attend Robert Morris University and obtained his Bachelor's degree. He then spent over 40 years working in the Municipal Waterworks Industry. Dan loved swimming, golfing, music, and food. Dan was also a big sports enthusiast and enjoyed vacationing with his family in Hilton Head, SC. Dan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends whenever he could. Dan will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A gathering of family and friends is set to take place on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray PA 15317, 724-260-5546. All other services will be private at the family's request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's name to Spirit Ride Therapeutic Riding Center, a charity founded by Dan's brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Their address is 7156 NC Highway 194 S., Banner Elk, NC 28604, http://www.spiritridenc.org/.

The fact that John Tobin loved Danny so much was a tribute to both men. I remember Danny coming to Tobin's funeral. When I saw Danny, I remember crying on seeing him. Tobin died 7.31.2013 but I still feel his presence as I hope you do for Danny. Both were great men.

Danny was an old friend from the '70-'80s. Quick witted and always great to see at parties and cookouts. Miss those times laughing with you.
