With great sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Daniel James Giambrone Roman, who departed this life on October 5, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on July 24, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Daniel was a remarkable man whose spirit and love for family resonated deeply with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Daniel's journey began in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, where he was raised by his devoted parents, Dominic Giambrone and Fay LaMonica Giambrone. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of community. These lessons would serve him well throughout his life, especially during his service in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. As a Quartermaster aboard the USS Ault (DD-698), Daniel navigated the seas with bravery and commitment, earning the respect of his fellow sailors. He often said, "Old sailors never die, they just sail away," a testament to his deep connection to the ocean and the camaraderie he found during his service.
In Orlando, Florida, Daniel met the love of his life, Denise Markham Roman. Their love story blossomed, and together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Denise was not just his wife; she was his partner in every sense, standing by his side through life's joys and challenges.
Daniel was a proud father to his son, Joel Giambrone, and daughter, Laura Giambrone, and embraced his role as a loving stepfather to Adam and Andrew Schoch. He took immense pride in his family, always encouraging and nurturing their dreams. His legacy of love extends to his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, all of whom he adored. Daniel's heart was a well of generosity, and he would do anything for those he loved.
In addition to his family, Daniel had a profound love for music. A talented vocalist, he was a proud member of a quartet, often sharing his passion for singing with friends and family. Music was a source of joy and connection for him, and he cherished the moments spent harmonizing with his fellow musicians.
Daniel also had a creative side, expressing his thoughts and emotions through poetry. He penned two poignant poems titled "The Quest" and "Did You Hear It Too," which captured the essence of his reflective nature and artistic spirit. His love for cooking was equally matched by his passion for sharing meals with loved ones, where every dish was seasoned with care and affection.
Despite his many talents and interests, Daniel remained grounded in his faith and values. He was a man of deep conviction, and his love for Jesus Christ guided his actions and relationships. He exemplified kindness, compassion, and a fierce loyalty to family and friends.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Claire Varrone, and his brother Anthony Giambrone, as well as his beloved nephew, Anthony Varrone. He is survived by his loving sister, Joann Giambrone Pizzo, and brother, Joseph Giambrone, who carry forth his spirit of love and resilience.
Daniel will be laid to rest in Pensacola, Florida, a place that held significance in his heart. As we gather to honor his memory, we celebrate a life well lived, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Rest in peace, dear Daniel-DaddyO
