Daniel Douglas Johnson, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. He was 63 years old.
Dan was born on August 12, 1960 in Mora, Minnesota to parents Douglas and Anna Harriet (Erickson) Johnson. He grew up in White Bear Lake until he was 12 years old, and the family moved to Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from Richwoods High School and continued his education at Illinois Central College.
He returned to Minnesota and began working at Johnson Controls in Plymouth, as a systems engineer. After 35 years of employment, Dan had a vast knowledge of all their systems, which had his co-workers calling him "Dan the Man".
He was devoted to his family and enjoyed going on vacations and spending birthdays and holidays together. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, waterskiing, jet skiing, and sailing his hobie catamaran. He also enjoyed many home projects. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Betty Johnson and Verner and Mabel Erickson.
He is survived by his parents Douglas and Harriet Johnson; brothers, Tony (Janni) and David (Jane); nephews and nieces, Brandon, Kailey, Brian (Mallory), Kimberly, Britta (Samuel), and Curtis; great nephew Jack; aunts and uncles, Marlys Golly, Deloris (Don) Rowley, Harvey Erickson, Donna McNeilly, and Judy Dupay; many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Fish Lake Chapel in Mora.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will be in the Fish Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to the Fish Lake Chapel
