Daniel Michael Killday, 80, of Holts Summit, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his residence.
He was born May 10, 1944, in Edina, Missouri, the son of Robert Daniel and Esther Ellen (Witherow) Killday.
Daniel served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
He was united in marriage on June 12, 1965, in Edina, Missouri to Carolyn Virginia Glover who preceded him in death on January 15, 2006.
Daniel worked his entire career for Missouri Power and Light (Ameren) as a Journeyman Lineman and later as a supervisor. Following retirement, he worked for Utility Work assessing storm damage.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Holts Summit. Daniel enjoyed fishing and hunting, boating, gardening, and traveling. He also enjoyed making stone jewelry with his wife. For over 25 years, Daniel was a Chief and Master Judge for Lineman International Rodeo.
Survivors include two children, Kenneth Killday, Holts Summit; Mary Killday, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Katherine (Anthony) Ramirez; Kevin Killday; two great-grandchildren, Abbigale Ramirez and Timothy Ramirez; two siblings, Dennis (Linda) Killday, Russellville; Mary (Michael) Early, Kirksville; and four in-laws, Jim Bruegenhemke, O’Fallon; Carol Killday, Winchester; Alan (Lottie) Glover, Newark, MO; and Meg Glover, Newark, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Killday; an infant son; a daughter, Danna Killday; one sister, Elizabeth Bruegenhemke; three brothers, Robert (Shirlene) Killday; William (Dorothy) Killday; and Terrence Killday; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Glover and Kenneth Glover.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with the Rev. Chris Cordes officiating.
Entombment with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
