Daniel Lee Kuhl, age 71, of Bay Port, passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025.

Danny, Dan or "DK" was born in Bad Axe on November 2, 1953, to Walton and Dolores (Karbowski) Kuhl. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1971. On August 16, 1980, he married Brenda Harris at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing. DK owned Kuhl Building Products, was the Sebewaing VFW Sportsman's Caretaker, and was honored as Sebewaing's Grand Marshal in 2024. On September 23, 2025, his good friend, Sheriff Kelly Hanson, deputized DK as a County Deputy. DK was active in many clubs: Knights of Columbus, Sebewaing VFW Sportsman's Club, United Sportsman Alliance, Sebewaing American Legion Post #293, Indian Trails Riding Club and SAPS. He was a member of Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church in Sebewaing. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, building, watching the Detroit Lions, family time, and adored being a grandpa.

DK is survived by his wife, Brenda; children: Benjamin (Jessie) Kuhl, Andrew (Brooke) Kuhl and Alyssa (Justin VanderMeulen) Kuhl; grandchildren: Lily, Margo, Taylor, Ryker, Kaden, Brailee and Brisyn; siblings: Larry (late Faye) Kuhl, Renee (late Brian) Mallory and friend Tim Coryell, and late infant sister, AnnMarie; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on October 11, 2025 at Sebewaing's VFW Sportsman's. Service will begin at 1:00 P.M with a luncheon to follow. Per DK's wishes, cremation has taken place.
