Sharon L. Mitchell, age 74, of Bay Port, passed away at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center on September 10, 2025.

Sharon was born in Cass City on April 12, 1951, to Clayton and Charlotte (McKee) Carr. She graduated in 1969 from Owen-Gage High School, then worked at Hills and Dales Hospital as a secretary until 1970. She married Francis L. Mitchell on November 5, 1977. He preceded her in death in April 2006. She co-owned Franks Bar in Owendale and also worked as a secretary for Mercy Hospital from 1984-2005. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Gagetown United Methodist Church. Sharon enjoyed hummingbirds, gardening, lilacs, deer hunting, fishing, being out on Lake Huron, watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers, baking, playing cards (especially euchre), mushrooming up north, watching the sunset, campfires and watching the many stages of the moon.

Sharon is survived by her significant other, Timothy Esch; children: Sean (Sharrah) Mitchell, Ashlea (William) Cox and step son, Shannon (Janelle) Mitchell, step daughter Misty Cummins; sisters:, June Carr and Verna Linderman; grandchildren: Connor, Devin and Lukas Mitchell, Emmalea, Colby and Novalea Cox, Alyssa, Genevieve and Joseph Mitchell, and Jimmy Guzman-Ruiz; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Sue Rapson.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis, and 2 brothers: Richard and William Carr 1 sister Donna Fahl; and her favorite dog, Howey.

Per Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place.
