Daniel D. Kulseth, age 58 of St. Cloud passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday December 19, 2024 in Albany, MN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday December 27 at Johnson Hagglund Funeral and Cremation in Litchfield, MN. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM service. Interment will be held in Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN.
Daniel (Dan) Duane Kulseth was born on July 1, 1966 to Duane Kulseth and Verna (Sletten) Kulseth in Thief River Falls, MN.
Dan grew up until 13 living around the Litchfield area. After Dan’s dad’s death, they moved to Thief River Falls for 3 years to return to the Litchfield area. Dan worked for a farmer from the ages of 17 to 18 graduating from Cosmos High School in 1985. He worked for HTI for four years then had several factory jobs before employment at Brandon Tire for 12 years.
In 1990, Dan married Karla (Moran) Schwartz. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Gregory (1994), Chelsey (1995), Isaih (1997) and Emmanuel (1998). Dan and Karla were married for 25 years. Dan enjoyed listening to “old time country”. He loved to dance. Dan enjoyed going for drives, taking the kids to demolition derbies, races, fairs and fishing. He loved hanging out with family and friends.
In 2021, Dan was diagnosed with lung cancer. Dan fought a very hard and strong fight. In October 2024, Dan’s cancer spread. In November, Dan was admitted to the St. Cloud Hospital for a week and then to the Albany nursing home.
Daniel is survived by his children – Gregory (Tanja) Kulseth, Badger, SD, Chelsey Kulseth, Cokato, MN, Isaih Kulseth, Cokato, MN, Emmanuel (Ashley) Kulseth, Howard Lake, MN; 6 grandchildren; his mom, Verna Kulseth, Litchfield, MN; fraternal twin, Dean Kulseth, Mankato, MN; sister, Denise Vedbraaten, Litchfield, MN, lifelong friend, Karla Schwartz, Cokato, MN, uncle Ronnie (Annette) Sletten; aunt Sandra Johnson; many nieces and nephews; extended Moran family. Dan is preceded in death by his dad, Duane Kulseth; grandparents Marvin Sletten, Ingeborg Sletten, Joseph and Minnie Kulseth; mother-in-law Donna Moran; and many aunts and uncles.
