Daniel Ray LambMenneke was born on September 3, 1952, in
Algona, Iowa. Throughout his life, Daniel was known for his strong spirit, resilience, and the deep love he had for his family. He valued his relationships and took pride in being a father, grandfather, and brother in the church.
He was a man of deep faith who loved God and faithfully served in his church, which he attended for more than 30 years. His faith shaped every part of his life and guided the values he held most dear. He believed strongly in old-school principles-manners, morals, traditions, knowledge, and personal responsibility-and made these priorities the foundation for raising his children.
Daniel was highly intellectual, possessing a brilliant mind and a lifelong love of learning. With an exceptionally high IQ, he especially enjoyed solving complex problems and puzzles of all kinds, particularly those involving mathematics. His passion for knowledge led him to a career in education, where he served as a college professor. Many knew and respected him as "Dr. Lamb," a title that reflected both his academic achievements and the respect he earned from others.
He was well-organized, disciplined, and lived a frugal life, believing in careful stewardship and making the most of what he had. Daniel also had a warm and engaging personality-he loved to joke, make conversation, and connect with people wherever he went. He enjoyed good food and good company and had a way of leaving a lasting impression on those he met.
Daniel was married three times, to Char, Deb, and Patricia, and was shaped by his life experiences into the man remembered today. Like all of us, Daniel was not without sin or shortcomings, yet he sought to live according to his faith and convictions. He was deeply protective of those entrusted to his care and carried himself with discernment and guard, shaped by life's challenges. He remained grounded in his desire to do what he believed was right.
Daniel's life was shaped by his experiences, faith, and the meaningful connections he built with those around him. He will be remembered for his presence, his perseverance, and the impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. His memory will continue to live on through his family and all who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, intellect, values, and devotion to family that will continue through his children and all who knew him.
He is survived by his legal spouse, Patricia LambMenneke; his children, Andrea Gutierrez (Eli Gutierrez) and JudithSahara LambMenneke Chiles (Lamont Chiles); a host of grandchildren; and his siblings, Sharon, Roger, Brenda, and Diane.
He was preceded in death by his son; his parents, Arthur and Lois Menneke; and his siblings, Kristy and Ronnie.
