Daniel "Joe" Lancaster, 72, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The husband of Donna Cummins Lancaster, Joe was born January 17, 1952, to the late Saint Elmo and Ethel Barrick Lancaster in Versailles, Kentucky. He was a Woodford County High School Graduate and a 26-year veteran with the Kentucky National Guard. He spent 20 years at the Boone National Guard Center as a helicopter technician then moved to Kentucky Logistics at Bluegrass Station for 15 years. After retirement, Joe became a volunteer bus driver for Kings Daughters Apartments in Frankfort. He was a dedicated and active member of Elevate Assembly of God and an avid University of Kentucky fan but enjoyed all sports in general. Joe loved to read, Westerns in particular, and was very much a family man, making sure everyone was taken care of.
In addition to his loving wife, Donna Cummins Lancaster, Joe is survived by his daughters, Amy Hamilton and Becky Lancaster, all of Frankfort; his sister, Debbie ( Russell) Fannin of Versailles; brothers, Phillip (Donna) Lancaster, Mark (Annie) Lancaster, and Loren (Linda) Lancaster, all of Versailles; his grandchildren, Daniel Hamilton, Chase Hamilton, and Autumn Lancaster; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alan Lancaster, Howard Lancaster, and Louis Lancaster.
Visitation will be held from 4:00p until 8:00p on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The Funeral Service will be held 11:00a, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with a visitation from 10:00a until the time of service at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, with Pastor Bobby Baker and Pastor Frank Layne officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort with Daniel Hamilton, Chase Hamilton, Zachary Smith, Nathan Lancaster, Mark Lancaster, Jr, Josh Lancaster, Jason Fannin, and Jonathan Fannin serving as Pallbearers. Joe to me was an amazing man. He was well loved by those who knew him and respected in the community. He and his family hold a special place in the hearts of many. I speak for my family also when I say, "until we meet again in heaven" we're going to miss him.

Sincerely
Shane Riddle

Joe was the first NCO that I was assigned under when I joined the Guard in '82. He was considerate, caring and looked out for the best in his Soldiers. Throughout my following career I would occasionally run across him and he would always ask how I was doing. He was a great role model for many. -COL Brian DeMers (Retired)
