Daniel Joseph "Danny" Lane, born August 8, 1931, during the Great Depression to the late Lottie Grice Lane Thompson and Dock John Lane, passed away peacefully at his home on November 13, 2025. A lifelong resident of Marion, SC, Danny was deeply rooted in his community and well respected by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page for those unable to attend. The family will be receiving friends after the service at the cemetery.

Danny and his wife, the late Mary Steva Webb Lane, were high school sweethearts who shared a devoted marriage and raised four sons together. He was a long-time member of Marion Presbyterian Church, where he faithfully served in numerous leadership roles over the years. Danny served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and contributed to his industry and state as President of the South Carolina Association of Convenience Stores in 1985–1986. He later retired as President of Dilmar Oil Company in the mid-1990s and enjoyed a fulfilling retirement in both Marion and Garden City Beach, SC.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Wayron Lane; his sisters, Barbara Faulk, Inez Lane, and Mildred Strickland; and his grandson, Jason Webb Lane.

He is survived by his four sons: Daniel Joseph Lane, Jr. (Cathy) of Taylors, SC; Marvin Dibble Lane of Murrells Inlet, SC; John Wayron Lane of Marion, SC; and Stephen Webb Lane of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren-Sean Lane of Myrtle Beach, SC; Jacob Lane and Zachary Lane, both of Orlando, FL; Hunter Lane of Marion, SC; and Garrett Lane (Sara) of Marion, SC-as well as three great-grandchildren.

Danny Lane leaves behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, faith, and family love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorials may be made to the Marion Presbyterian Church, PO Box 186 Marion SC 29571.
