Daniel Leitzman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center on Mar. 30, 2023.
Daniel Lee Leitzman, 69, a lifelong Paragon resident, unexpectedly passed from this life on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his home. Known to many as Dan, Danny, or Mumbles, he was born in Martinsville on November 10, 1953, to the late Robert Lee Leitzman and the late Frances Evelyn (Sawyers) Leitzman.
Dan graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1972. He worked at the former Harmon Motive and at the former Grassy Fork Fisheries both in Martinsville. He married his lifelong companion, Debra Taylor, in 1975.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed pretty much everything mother nature had to offer. He loved to cut wood, burn brush, mushroom hunting, and more. He also loved to watch racing and basketball, research ancestry, and attend auctions.
Dan leaves behind his loving family and friends including his companion, Debra Leitzman of Paragon; son, Jeremy Leitzman of Gosport; daughters, Donetta Davis of Bloomington, Jaime (husband, Frank) Soltis of Martinsville, Holly (husband, Geramie) Hancock of Columbus, and Sarah Harrison of Columbus; brother, Steve (wife, Mary) Leitzman of Paragon; and grandchildren, Jeriko Sullivan, Kelsie Robinson, Kruz Soltis, Lily Leitzman, Christian Booher, Grace Albertson, Willow Soltis, Xavier Harrison, and Jack Harrison.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, April 4th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, April 5th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm in the chapel at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. A service celebrating Dan's life will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 5th at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Tinsley officiating. He will be laid to rest in Samaria Cemetery in Paragon.
