It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Louis “Dino” Lucero on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the young age of 67 surrounded by his family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dan was born on January 20, 1957, in Socorro New Mexico to Louisa Lucero.
Dan grew up in Socorro and Albuquerque New Mexico. He graduated from Valley High School in 1976. In his younger years, he met the mother of his two daughters, Eva Marie Trevino. They were married in 1970’s and stayed together until her passing in 2016.
He loved going to the casino with Eva, and his favorite pastimes included working on cars, tackling house projects, nurturing his fruit trees and plants, and fishing whenever he had the chance. His favorite place to be, however, was at home with friends and family, spending time together playing cards, enjoying home-cooked meals, sharing stories from his youth or his many encounters with others, and always bringing laughter to those around him.
Dan was a loving, caring, and intuitive man, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. He was naturally athletic, hardworking, and had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His genuine kindness and understanding made everyone feel seen and valued, and he approached every interaction with warmth and sincerity.
Dan was a devoted partner, father, nino, son, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend. Those who knew him understood that his greatest love and deepest devotion was for his partner, Eva. He took immense pride in his daughters, Cheryll Lucero and Sharon Lipari, adored his grandchildren, and held his sisters close to his heart.
Dan is preceded in death by his partner Eva Trevino, mother Louisa Lucero and his daughter Cheryll Lucero.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Lipari (Joe Lipari); his sisters, Joanna Vega (Gene Vega), Anna Marquez (Benny Marquez), and Margaret Lucero (Michelle Birchak); his three grandchildren, Brianna McAfee, Mia Lipari, and Grace Lipari; and his great- grandchildren, Illianna, and AJ.
He is also survived by his nieces: Bernadette, Lauren, Eve, Melissa, Jessica, Ginger, and Victoria; his nephews: Patrick, Richard, Michael M., Eloy, Brian and Jeff.; and his great-nieces and nephews: Gabby, Joey, Finn, Angelo, Julia, Megan, Brandon, Antonio, Michael C., Benny T. and Kailyn. His only godson, Adam Barreras, along with many other family members and friends, also survive him.
Your footsteps can never be filled nor your love ever forgotten. This is not Goodbye we will see you later. Rest in perfect paradise you will truly be missed! “Peace bro!”
