POSEYVILLE, INDIANA

Daniel Everett McCoy, 77, beloved husband, father, proud grandfather and veteran of Poseyville, Indiana, passed away, Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Cypress Grove Rehab Center in Newburgh, Indiana.

He was born June 7, 1948, to William Max McCoy and Myrtle Mae (Farrar) McCoy Hokit in Bakerfield, California. Daniel lived a life defined by love, service and quiet strength. He proudly served his country as a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War. He worked clipping hair off cows, on potato farms and oil fields in California and Lucent Polymers and Hoehn Plastics here in Indiana.

He shared 46 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Peggy. Together they built a family and life filled with love, commitment and countless memories.

Surviving are his wife: Peggy Lou (Farrar) McCoy; son: Steven McCoy; daughters: Amanda McCoy (Ricardo Medina) and Nancy McCoy; sister: Jean Lewis (Rex); grandchildren: Kaley & Brayden Medina and Calista & Athena Jordan, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings: Bill McCoy, Marion Dalton, Melvin Mobley and Ruby Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Indiana with burial to follow in Poseyville Cemetery in Poseyville, Indiana.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Werry Funeral Home, PO Box 297, Poseyville, Indiana 47633 to assist with funeral expenses.
