Daniel Moffett Obituary

Daniel B. Moffett, 91, of Kensington MD passed away peacefully on December 24, surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was a native Washingtonian, born to Dr. Daniel Bruce and Gretta (Craig) Moffett. He was a graduate of Duke University and the University of Nebraska. His time in the Navy led to his profession as an engineering contractor.

Dan had a love for his community, and with his devoted pup Mallory stopped to talk to everyone. He was steadfast and well liked by all. He was a lifelong bicyclist riding into his eighties. An MG, Triumph, and an Alfa Romeo fueled his love for foreign cars. With his Mini he found community, forming life long friendships. He was a micophile who took award winning photos and spore prints of countless mushrooms. Dan, we will miss you every minute, and we are grateful for so many years of joy you brought to your family and community. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Patricia and their sons David (Kathy) and Kerry. He shared children, Elizabeth (Moffett) Thornton (Brian) and Daniel Bruce Moffett III with his former spouse Jane (Perkins). He leaves behind his grandchildren Christian, Olivia, Nathan, Randy, Elaina, Daniel, Yunah and other relatives. We would like to thank the staff of Suburban Hospital and Montgomery Hospice for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or any organization of your choice.
