Daniel B. Moore, 69, passed away August 7, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Danny was born in Albany, NY to the late Harvey and Margaret Kent Moore. He was a husband, father, Grandanny, pastor, coach, mentor and friend who loved fiercely like Jesus! Danny was blessed to be Pastor of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, Athletic Director of Greenbrier Christian Academy and President of H&B Railroad Company. He lived every day knowing that to whom much has been given, much would be required. Danny's love languages were giving and acts of service, and he never took any opportunity God gave him for granted to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Every person he encountered, no matter their walk in life, he would give his last breath to make them feel loved. His unwavering purpose was to show them Jesus and give them the encouragement they needed to see the potential in themselves. Danny was known for giving infamous nicknames, but his greatest nickname was Coach. Coach Moore's passion for athletics and his players went way beyond the courts, fields or mats, every player was like one of his own and they knew Coach Moore had their backs! His life was like a beautifully mastered puzzle with so many pieces that perfectly fit together. Danny fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept his faith. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 23 years, Susan Moore; daughter, Kelly Gregory (Kenny); sons, Chris Moore (Michelle), Kitt Bowden (Jen) and Stephen Bowden (June); grandchildren, Landon, June, Lily, Brooke, Sam, Maverick, and Lane; brothers, Harvey, Larry (Cindy), and Rob (Shae). A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, August 13 at 3:00pm at Greenbrier Christian Academy, with Pastor Grant Etheridge officiating. A dessert reception will take place following the service on the GCA Athletic Fields. Please feel free to bring your favorite dessert to share and dress comfortably as we spend time together on the fields honoring his legacy.

Got bullied hard at GCA. Coach Moore nicknamed me "Heinz" because of my red hair and #57 football jersey. Coach Moore was a bright spot for me personally and made me excited to come to school when it was bad otherwise. Got a chance to meet him again only months ago and he was the same genuine man. They don´t make em like him anymore.

I only met Pastor Danny recently through Fairview Heights Baptist Church and right away I admired him. A true man of God, a Father, Grandfather, and husband. He demonstrated to me how badly he wanted to bring the message of Jesus and he did so through many of life's obstacles. We texted each other Sunday and I know he had planned on attending church this past Sunday, My prayers go out to Susan and the family knowing the loss has got to be great, I also pray for the congregation at Fairview Heights, I know Danny loved you all and always had the growth of God's Kingdom at the forefront of his actions.

Danny was loved by many, greatly loved by my grandchildren Bailey, Ramsey, Harley, Max, Chloe, Jack and my daughters Lara and Lucy, and Scott, to whom he showed God´s love. From my seat in God´s athletic stands, I observed that while many professed, Danny left a book of memories with God at the beginning and close of each chapter. Chookie and Dude.

Sending prayers and condolences with the family and sharing their grief. Coach Moore was a motivator in the game of softball. Both of our daughters were coached by him. The Bruce Wright family at GCA 1997 to 2007.

Speaking of Danny´s gift for giving Nick Names. He gave my son Hunter the nickname of Cheeseburger. Hunter is a 1st class ( Senior) at VMI this year and that nickname has followed him all this way. Danny´s legacy will live on through his comment to his family and I can say without any question he was a Brother in Christ to me.
I love ya brother save me a seat.
