Daniel Murphy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home on Jan. 28, 2026.
Daniel M. Murphy, age 50, of Peabody, known to his loved ones as Danny Boy or DB, died suddenly at home in peace on Monday, January 26. 2026.

Dan was born in Las Vegas, NV and raised in Malden, a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and later residing in Saugus and most recently Peabody. Dan was the eldest son of Daniel L. Murphy and the late Kathleen A. (Walsh) Murphy. He is survived by his two young children, Daniel M. Murphy and Alyssa R. Murphy.

Dan had a larger-than-life personality, always the life of the party, always valuing being consistently present and reliable to his family and friends. Everywhere he went, he was greeted by a familiar face which proves how easy to love Dan truly was. He enjoyed sports, playing video games and traveling with his grammar school and high school friends, most especially their annual trips to Block Island, RI. The only teams Dan cheered louder for than his beloved Boston sports teams were any team his son or nieces or nephews were playing on! Dan's true enjoyment was simply spending time and making memories with the people he loved and who loved him.

Besides his father and children Dan leaves behind his sister: Tara Eisenberg and her husband Jim of Lexington, his brother: Ryan and his wife Krystal of Peabody and his beloved nieces and nephews: Maura, Meagan and Maeve Eisenberg and Gwen, Jack, Gunnar and Declan Murphy. Dan also leaves behind the mother of his children: Christine L. Murphy of Lynnfield, his adoring aunts and uncles: Tom and Dottie Walsh of Lynnfield, Buffy Walsh and Teresa Walsh of Wakefield, Maureen and Geoff Shafer of Melrose, Jacquelyn and John Cram of Malden as well as countless cousins, extended family and friends.

No services are scheduled at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Dan's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Autism Society of Massachusetts.
