Daniel J. "Danny" O'Donoghue, a dedicated psychiatric nurse at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on April 23, 1962, in Worcester, he was deeply connected to his community and profession, which he served with compassion and commitment.

After graduating from Becker College, where Danny earned his Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN), he was employed for many years by UMass Hospital. His career was marked by a profound dedication to the mental health field, impacting many lives through his work.

Danny's life was rich with interests and passions especially  his Irish heritage. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time at the beach, particularly at the Cape, exploring state parks, rooting for New England sports teams, especially the Bruins, and visiting breweries with his daughter Kelly and son-in-law Zachary. An outdoor enthusiast, he cherished moments spent feeding and observing birds, which reflected his appreciation for nature.

Many are left behind that will miss Danny deeply including his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Kelly (O'Donoghue) Gray and Zachary of Tyngsboro, MA; his cherished son, Patrick O'Donoghue of Holden, MA; his loving siblings:  Donna (O'Donoghue) Wilson and her husband David of Marstons Mills, MA, Karen (Collins) Hagman and her husband Doug of Rutland, MA and Brendan O'Donoghue and his wife Terrie of Rochdale, MA; his nieces: Maura Tincker, Leah Allen and Stephanie Collins; his nephew Joseph Kelly;  his lifelong friends and dear cat, Lilly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie (Conroy) and Eugene O'Donoghue; his brother, Billy O'Donoghue; his sister, Katherine Asmar and Aunt Shirley O'Donoghue who held a special place in his heart.

Danny's absence leaves an unfillable space, but his spirit, laughter and love will forever live on in the lives he's touched.

Family and friends are welcomed to funeral Mass on Saturday, February 15th beginning at 10:00am in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant St, Worcester, MA. Following the Funeral Mass there will be a gathering at the Phelan Center adjacent to Blessed Sacrament Church
