Daniel "Danny" Joseph McNamara II, 61, of Croton, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1963 to the late Margaret McNamara and Daniel J. McNamara.

Danny graduated in 1982 from Northridge High School, and went to work for Sutherland Lumber Company. He joined the United States Air Force in January, 1985 and served until December 1989. He worked many jobs throughout his life; but some of his favorites included time spent as a farm hand for area farmers, at Almendinger's Sawmill, at Holmes Trucking, as a truck driver, and at Holmes Lumber.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and three nephews – Adam Hartfield, Jacob McNamara, and Artie Parker. He is survived by his son, Joshua McNamara, five siblings Maureen (Tom) Persinger, Margie (Jack) Harrison, Denny (Beth) McNamara, Cathy (Steve) Hartfield and Jimmy McNamara; ten nieces and nephews: Brad, Julie, Christina, Kelly, Chad, Jeffrey, Annie, Cory, Brandi, and Daniel. And, those who made him laugh most … "all the little kids", his great nieces and nephews and his great-great nieces and nephews: Jordan (Ella & Brenner), Maggie (Miles & Goldie), Conner, Riley, Gavin & Grace, Kenzie & Karlie, Alex & Grant, Joseph, Jace, & Liam, Aubrey, Grady & Ella, Nash & Cade, Marley & Jacob.

Danny never looked for praise. He was never one to boast. He just worked quietly for the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken - his worries went unspoken too. And his wants in life were very few.

A Celebration of Danny's life is being planned by family. Details will be shared in the near future.

I've finished life's chores assigned to me, so put me on a fishing boat headed out to sea. Please send along my fishing pole for I've been invited to the fishing hole. To all those that think of me, be happy as I go out to sea. If others wonder why I'm missing, just tell them I've gone fishing.
