Kathleen Sue Baughman

Kathleen Sue Baughman, 77 years old, from Cardington, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the home of her daughter after complications with her heart and kidneys. She was born on July 30, 1948, in Marion, Ohio to Melvin V. Dutton and Esther M. Storer. Kathy married Richard J. Baughman on August 25, 1967, in Marion, Ohio.
Having spent many years as a homemaker, she returned to work for a brief time as a cook in Chesterville Nursing Home and working at Cardington Meat Packing & Burcliff Industries. Kathy then became a driver for Seniors on Center where she eventually became transportation coordinator until she retired due to health issues. She found the most joy in taking care of her beloved horses and cherished moments with family, friends, and her grandchildren. Kathy considered being a wife, mother, and grandmother her proudest achievement.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; daughters, Angela (Elmo) Canterbury, Patricia Landes – Persinger, Elizabeth (Dirk) Detillion; and son, Andrew Baughman. Kathy also leaves behind beloved grandchildren: Kathleen (Matthew) Kerns, Lindsay & Susan Owens, Kyle (Nicole) Landes, Jacob (Rachel Hunter) Canterbury, Andrea Canterbury, Chris Branham, Sophia, Trent, Carter, and Annalise; brother, Larry Storer; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Dutton and Esther Storer; beloved aunt, Helen Dutton; her brothers, Virgil Dutton, Jack, Jim, Bill and Paul Storer; sisters, Donna Phillips, Violet Mabry and Linda Downer; brothers-in-law, Clyde Phillips, Dee Mabry, James, Homer, Raymond, Ralph Baughman; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou, Freda & Betty Storer, Ruth, Jean, & June Baughman, Helen (Kenneth) Gallogly, and Geneva Jackson.
Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074 will be open for friends and family to share memories or convey messages of condolence on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. with the service commencing at 12:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life is planned immediately following the service at the home of Richard and Kathleen Baughman.
