Daniel W. Prater, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on January 21, 2025, at his home in Brunswick, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 25, 1947, in Marion, Ohio.
Daniel dedicated his career as a Design Engineer for Ohio Bell and AT&T and served his community as a Brunswick School Bus Driver. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life; he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, exemplifying the values of duty and honor throughout his life.
An avid golfer, Daniel found joy in the sport and cherished countless afternoons on the green. He also had a passion for boating, fishing, and bowling, engaging in these activities with family and friends that brought him much happiness.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen, and his loving children, Susand Folta and Dan Prater (Shannon). He was also a proud grandfather to Kimberly, Rebecca, Jacob, and Clayton, whose lives he enriched with his warmth and wisdom. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, John Prater (Vivian), who shared many cherished moments with him.
Daniel W. Prater will be remembered for his steadfast character, his deep love for his family, and the joyful moments he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
