Daniel Albert Pulice, 49, of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly at WVU Medicine – Weirton Medical Center on Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by family.
Dan was born in Weirton on November 9, 1975, to John and Mary Anne Pulice. He was a 1994 graduate of Madonna High School and a 1999 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in geology. His work as a professional geologist over the years allowed him to travel throughout the area, sometimes across the country, core drilling and testing soil in the field. He was proud to have worked on the tunnel-boring project in Pittsburgh, creating a tunnel beneath the Allegheny River for the T rail line.
Dan had an easy-going nature to his peaceful spirit, a generous heart, and great sense of humor. He had a smart mind and was a clever conversationalist. He deeply loved his family, and he created lifelong friendships with many who considered Danny one of their closest friends. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, making soppressata, biking, gardening, especially tending to his fig trees watching and betting on football and horse racing. He will be missed by many, as those who knew him will always long for more of what we were blessed to have received from him.
He is preceded in death and welcomed in heaven by his maternal grandparents Paul and June Gaughenbaugh, paternal grandparents Albert and Carmela Pulice, his grandfather-in-law and best friend Ed Gialluco, and brother-in-law Harry Ciccarelli.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Sara Ciccarelli Pulice, and the light of his life, his daughter, Caroline Pulice. His parents, John and Mary Anne Pulice, sisters Jennifer Curtis and Kimberly Heubel and his uncle Dave Pulice, who was like a brother to him. His nieces and nephews: Michael (Miranda) Curtis, Jake Curtis, Drew Curtis, Bella Heubel, Max Heubel, Syncere Stevenson. His mother-in-law Lynne Ciccarelli, father-in-law Harry Ciccarelli, and grandmother-in-law Nancy Gialluco. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. And his beloved dogs, Bodie and Lady.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 6 from 4-7pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, with a memorial Liturgy of the Word service to immediately follow officiated by Fr. John Soplinski, godson of Danny's parents.
His legacy lives on through his generosity, having donated his organs to CORE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road New Cumberland, WV 26047 in his memory.
Dan's family would like to thank the Weirton Medical Center emergency room staff for their care and compassion.
