John (Giovanni) Albert Pulice, 75, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Weirton Geriatric Center, surrounded by family.
John was born on November 10, 1949 in Martins Ferry, OH, to Alberto and Carmela Pulice, who moved from Calabria, Italy to settle in Weirton, WV, where John lived the rest of his life.
He was a 1967 graduate of Madonna High School, where he met the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Mary Anne. He worked for nearly 40 years at Weirton Steel, at the caster in the BOP. He was equally proud of his work at the Pizza Inn and delivering newspapers in his younger days.
John had a smile that lit up a room. His charming personality was even brighter. His ability to weave conversations with humor and wit was a gift. He had a fun and adventurous spirit, was generous and kind. He was a genuine father figure, a natural mentor many looked up to and adored. His wisdom, unmatched. His hard work ethic and devotion to his family are prominent in the legacy he leaves for his loved ones. His proudest achievements in life were his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife's parents, Paul and June Gaughenbaugh, he is reunited in heaven with his son, Daniel Pulice, who preceded him death by 47 days.
John is survived by his one true love, his loving wife, Mary Anne Pulice. His beloved daughters, Jennifer Curtis and Kimberly Heubel. His daughter-in-law Sara Ciccarelli Pulice. The greatest joys of his life, his grandchildren: Michael Giovanni (Miranda) Curtis, Jake Curtis, Drew Curtis, Caroline Pulice, Bella Heubel, and Max Heubel. His brothers Mike Pulice and David (Jennifer) Pulice. Dozens of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 23 from 5-8pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, followed by a funeral mass at 10am Thursday, April 24 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton, officiated by John and Mary Anne's godson, Fr. John Soplinski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to a charity that matches his generosity: the Community Bread Basket, 3545 Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, WV, 26062.
John's family would like to thank the staff at Weirton Geriatric Center for their excellent care and loving friendship. They truly are, as John would say, "the best in the business."
