Daniel R. Ramirez passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in his beloved hometown. He was born July 19, 1950 to Daniel and Elena Ramirez Sr. in Mathis, Texas. Daniel was a kind and welcoming individual, known for his warm spirit that made everyone feel at ease. He had a sense of humor that brought joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
Daniel cherished spending time with his family, especially during the holidays, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all. He is survived by his three children, Renee Veronica Marino, Daniella Ramirez, and Robert Olivarez; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Kaufman, Lala DeLeon, Rosa Ayala, Lupe Jimenez, Sylvia Jimenez, Minerva Ramirez, Elda Muniz; brother, David Ramirez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Elena Ramirez; his son, Daniel Ramirez III; brothers, DL Ramirez and Valdemar Ramirez; sister, Diana Ramirez.
Visitation will be held on December 9, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Winsteads' Funeral Home located at 121 N. Duval St., Mathis, TX. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on December 10, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church in Mathis followed by interment at Cenizo Hill Cemetery.
Daniel R. Ramirez will be remembered lovingly by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure to share in his life. His kindness, humor, and warmth will resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
