Daniel Charles Reck

Daniel C. Reck of Wolverine Lake, Michigan died on August 21, 2024 of natural causes at the age of 84.
Dan was born on March 20,1940 in Lansing. He attended Lathrup High School and went on to hold the longstanding breaststroke record at Ferris State University. In 1966, Dan wed Patricia Dixon and they were married just shy of 40 years at Patricia's passing in 2004.
Dan is remembered by his son Daniel Reck (Elizabeth); his daughter Melissa Berumen (Brandon); his five grandchildren, Daniel, Rachel, Dylan, Brett and Gwendolyn; his sister Pam Drake (Mel); his nephew Chad Fisher (Tricia) and their daughter Katerina; and his niece Mandi Patterson (Archie).
Dan was an avid fan of skiing, golfing, sailing, swimming and any time by the water. He cherished the friendships he made while raising his family in Troy, sailing on Lake Saint Clair, and during his 37-year career at Bavarian Village Ski Shop. Dan never forgot a face and had a gift for making people feel immediately welcome and appreciated.
Dan enjoyed a 60-year retail sales career and was working at Menards until the time of his passing. The original DIY man, Dan excelled at projects and inventing anything that would make a job easier!
Dan was well-loved by many: family, friends, neighbors and co-workers past and present. He loved spending time with his children, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and granddogs.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, 2024 4-8 PM at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 W. Maple Rd., Birmingham, MI 48009.
Funeral Service Wednesday, August 28, 2024 11 AM at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 W. Maple Rd., Birmingham, MI 48009. Visitation at the church on Wednesday begins at 10 AM.
