Daniel Devere Rock

Daniel Devere Rock passed this life to his heavenly home on Monday, Aug. 18th, 2025. Dan was born January 9, 1937 to Alfred and Christine Rock in Los Angeles, CA. By the time he was 15, his true love, Diana Jo Radford, came into his life and they married 3 years later. They enjoyed their life together building on hopes and dreams as they raised four children. In 1969, wanting a better life for them, they moved from Southern California to Redding, near Lake Shasta in the northern state. One of Dan's favorite past times was water-skiing, a sport the entire family enjoyed together. Just like Daniel of the Bible, Dan was a man of Godly faith. He was his family's hero. His opinions were sought after and respected. Although a man of few words, when he spoke, we listened. He worked hard, often two jobs to provide for his family. He passed along his love of cars and mechanics to his sons. He also learned how to build houses which he also passed along to his sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons that wanted to learn. He designed his own plans, building several homes and spec houses throughout the area. For his daughters, he taught them how to maintain their own cars, what to do in an emergency, always keep a dime in their shoe in case they had to make a phone call home and to always study hard. After the kids left home, Dan and Diana moved on to their next dream, buying a farm in Southwest Missouri near Diana's parents. Over the years, the four kids and their families followed them to Missouri. The grandkids grew, adoring their Grandad. Just as he was with his own kids, he played with them, taught

them games, and encouraged them to follow their own dreams. He will be deeply missed but his guidance will be felt for generations to come. He is survived by his four children, Sherry (Darrel) Buttram of Crane, Darrel (Celia) Rock of Cedarcreek, Pam (John) Johnson of Billings, Robert (Billie) Rock of Ash Grove, sister Goldie (Roger) Clements, brother Fred (Shirley) Rock, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Services will be held at Union Ridge Baptist Church of Clever, MO followed by burial in the Union Ridge Cemetery.
