Shirley Machree Dunn Mounce passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Springfield, MO, at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 2 days. She was born March 15, 1935, to Nora Louise Houseman Dunn and Mitchell Robinson Dunn of Rockaway Beach, in Taney County.
After the death of her mother, the family moved to be closer to family and her grandmother Ella Dunn in Walnut Shade, where Shirley would attend elementary school in a small one-room schoolhouse. After graduating 8th grade, she began riding the school bus and attending Branson High School, graduating in 1953.
Shirley was united in marriage to Willard Richard Clevenger on February 04, 1953. Willard and Shirley were married for 22 years. This union was blessed with two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Ann and Mary Ellen. Family was very important to Shirley. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, farming, church and music, and at an early age learned to play the guitar. Above all, the most important part of her life was her relationship with God. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 13. She maintained that strong faith throughout her life, continuously praying for family and friends. She was truly a prayer warrior. Shirley loved her Lord so much that she became an ordained minister.

Her most memorable job was her first job; she was only 15 and began waitressing at, Hotel Taneycomo, in Rockaway Beach under the management of her aunt Anna Mae Lewis. On December 12, 1975, Shirley married Harold L. Mounce. They shared a love of music and enjoyed playing guitars and singing together. They made their home in Marionville until his passing in 2009.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and stepmother Ivon White Dunn, her husband Harold Mounce, brothers Kenneth Dunn and Bobby Keith Dunn, and granddaughter Amanda Michelle Eaton.
