Daniel Rodden

Daniel Rodden, 69, a resident of Venice, Florida, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024 in Venice, Florida.
He was born in Peoria, Illinois as the first son and third of seven children to the late Leona and Patrick Rodden. He was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School, and since the fourth grade until his move to Florida in 2018 was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Community of Jeffersonville at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his daughter, Dr. Natalie C. King (Dr. Richard), and granddaughter Clare, in Utah; and his son, Rev. Kyle G. Rodden, in Corydon and Lanesville; in addition, his six siblings: Kathy Phillips, in Ellenton, Florida; Patty Henderzahs (Greg), in New Albany, Indiana; Marianne Waldman (Dr. Randy), in Lexington, Kentucky; Kevin Rodden (Donna), in Greenville, Indiana; Betsy Sumner (Terry), in Jeffersonville, Indiana; and John Rodden (Mary Beth), in Jeffersonville, Indiana; and many close nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Jeffersonville City Police officer (30 years); Jeffersonville City Police Chief; school resource officer; Policeman Dan of Safety Town, Jeffersonville; president of local lodge of F.O.P.; at-large member of Clark County Council; Clark County Sheriff; coach of various youth sports; Co-Founder of the Jeffersonville Soup Kitchen; volunteer at the Center for Lay Ministries; selfless leader; loyal friend; dependable brother; devoted father-these are some of the many hats Danny wore in his life of service to our community.
Visitation will be at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Friday, March 22, 4:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23 at 10:00am at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with the committal service to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
