Jeanette Sharp (Siener), a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Pekin, Indiana, at the age of 66. Born on March 15, 1959, in Seymour, Indiana (North Vernon), she dedicated her life to caring for those around her, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Jeanette's professional journey began in the industrial field, where she worked for many years at GKN in Salem, Indiana. However, her true passion lay in the care of others. This was showcased in her work as a medical assistant, where her vibrant spirit and warm heart made a significant impact in various hospitals throughout southern Indiana. A graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Jeanette not only earned her high school diploma but further pursued her education by earning an associate degree. Her commitment to learning never wavered, and she exemplified the importance of education to her family.
Jeanette cherished her relationships, especially with her daughter, Kayla Siener. She loved spending time with Kayla and was known for her outstanding baking skills, often creating delicious treats that brought smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts. The aroma of her baked goods often filled their home, symbolizing the love and dedication she poured into every aspect of family life. Her nurturing spirit extended well beyond her immediate family. Jeanette was a devoted sister to Christine Mikel, Kathleen Nolan, Sue (Jim) Siener, and Mark (Aisline) Siener. She valued the cherished moments spent with her sisters and brother, sharing laughter, stories, and forming memories that would last a lifetime. She was also a loving sister-in-law to Tina McCartin, creating bonds that further enriched her life.
Bird watching was one of Jeanette's cherished hobbies; she found peace and joy in feeding the birds and observing their beauty. This gentle passion reflected her personality—compassionate, nurturing, and deeply connected to nature. Children held a special place in her heart, and she approached every interaction with warmth and love. Jeanette's proudest accomplishments were rooted in watching her family thrive. She took immense joy in seeing her loved ones succeed and find happiness, always supporting them with her unwavering love and guidance.
She is preceded in death by her love of her life Byron Sharp, mother, Rita Siener; father, Thomas Siener; and brother, Philip Siener. While Jeanette has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN. Visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by her funeral service at 4:00 PM.
