He was born October 18, 1959 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Elise Schardt.
Dan was a 1978 graduate of St. Mary's High School where he was active in the choirs. Dan was employed by Ventra for 15 years in production. He was a former member of Lighthouse Church in Huron.
He admired the arts, repairing and restoring antique radios, photography and gardening. His love of the arts was shared and enjoyed with his loving wife, Janet (Brian) Schardt whom he married June 12, 2021.
Dan is survived by his children, Aaron (Leslie), Grant, and Olive Schardt and his grandson Jacob Schardt.
Dan was an active member of the Sandusky Stroke Support Group. His family is requesting if desired for donations to be made in Dan's memorial.
Friends may call, Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3pm at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
