Daniel was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas the second of five sons of Alice and Donald Schmude. Danny is survived by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald J, (wife Lisa), David, (wife Sarah), Dennis, (wife Jennifer), and Douglas, (wife Cindy) as well as nieces and nephew: Katelyn, Megan, Abby and Ryan. Danny finished high school in Jenks, OK and earned an Associates of Arts degree from St. Gregory's College in Shawnee, OK. He was proud to have worked for Texaco, Citibank and Waste Management. Beginning in his young adulthood Danny battled numerous medical problems including complete loss of hearing, addressed by bilateral cochlear implants, loss of sight from Optical Neuritis, a successful double kidney transplant at University of Washington Medical Center in 2011 and reoccurring psychological problems during the last 24 years of his life.
Danny's was a cheerful and loving son and brother consistently displaying concern for others. He loved attention especially on his birthday, Christmas and Halloween and approached life with a positive, generous and adventurous spirit. He had a passion for cycling, reading, and ballroom dancing, even competing in some national dancing competitions. Danny's perseverance overcame many of life's challenges as he completed the MS-150 bicycle event twice, received his Texas driver's license, and graduated from college. Danny was very interested in current events, trivia, movies and sports (Houston Astros baseball) and was proud to vote in this year's presidential election. He loved his Catholic faith and prayed the rosary daily. Danny will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
