Daniel J. Scribner, 46, of Stanfordville, passed away on January 13, 2025 at his residence. On August 4, 1978 in Rhinebeck, he was born the son of Clifford and Mary (Elsbree) Scribner. He attended Stissing Mountain High School and went to work as a carpenter. Growing up he would work on anything with a motor and could build almost anything. He enjoyed four wheeling, driving motorcycles, and teaching others how to drive.

Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed the serenity of being in nature. Together with his mother and daughters, they enjoyed long walks, taking hikes, and camping. Together they climbed to the top of Stissing Mountain and other high points locally. He also enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and working around the family property.

Daniel is survived by his three daughters, Jalinna Kipp, Hannah Barrett and Kevia Tyler-Scribner. His grandson, Asher Sands and his parents, Clifford and Mary Scribner. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Marie and Mike Knapp and his cousins, Laura Blanchard and Michael Knapp Jr., who was like a brother to Dan.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. At 3:00pm, a prayer service will be held to conclude the afternoon.
