Donna Jean Stickles, 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Clinton Corners, on June 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 3, 1955, in Mt. Kisco, NY to Jean Louise Phillips and Donald Denbrock, raised by her Jean and stepfather William Bancroft Jr. She lived a life characterized by her big heart, humor, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
She attended Stissing Mountain High School, and worked most of her career as a caregiver for those in need. In her spare time Donna embraced the joys of cooking and was particularly known for her baking skills. Family gatherings would often be sweetened by her delicious cakes, which included wedding cakes and special birthday treats. Her passion for baking was not just about creating delightful desserts; it illustrated her caring nature and her commitment to providing joyful memories for her family.
Throughout her life, Donna embodied the spirit of selflessness. Her friends and family remember her as a jokester with a remarkable ability to lighten any situation. She had a wonderful knack for bringing laughter and joy into the lives of those around her. With a heart that seemed tireless in its desire to love and support, she often went without so that her family could have what they needed most.
Donna is survived by her son, Jayson (Theresa) Barrett, and daughter, Keri Dillinger. Donna took great pride in her grandchildren, Hannah Barrett, Victoria Dillinger, Alivia Dillinger, James Carr, Mindy Davis, Porsha Davis, as well as her great-grandchildren, Asher, Charlotte, and Bentley. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Thomson, Cindy Cobble, Patricia Hurley, and Keith Bancroft. In addition to her longtime friend, Laura Hoysradt and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donna is predeceased by her parents Jean and William Bancroft Jr. and Donald Denbrock. Her brother William “Billy” Bancroft III , and her beloved canine companion Sandy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 25, 2025 at Pine Plains Fire Company located at 7 Lake Road, Pine Plains, NY 12567. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM and service will be at 12:00PM. Reception to follow.
Donna Jean Stickles will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
