Daniel R. Scripter

Daniel R. Scripter Ballston Spa - Daniel R. Scripter, 68, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was born in Schenectady, New York on December 11, 1955, to Hiley and Frances Scripter and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Dan was a butcher running his own shop, The Corner Post in Middle Grove, for several years and continuing as a meat cutter throughout his life. He later drove school bus for the Saratoga Springs City School District. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Dan served as president of the Kayderosseras Fish and Game Club, leader of the Lucky Dog Hunting Club, member of the Single Action Shooting Society, and trail boss of the Circle K Regulators. When he wasn't out shooting at the range, Dan enjoyed taking a long ride on his Harley, including many trips to Sturgis.
Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He lived for his family and was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. If there was a party and you needed someone to cook, Dan was the man for the job. His barbecue chicken and smoked ribs were second to none.
Dan is survived by his wife of 49 years Davida, children Kevin (Angie), Amanda (Ed), and Sara (Chris), grandchildren Jodie (Ro), Mike (Nikki), Dominic, Harley, and Bella, great grandchildren Gwen, Braelynn, and Jazlyn, sister Bonnie (Arnie), brother David (Carolynn), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, July 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Dan will be laid to rest in Powell Wiswall Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dan may be made to the Saratoga Co Animal Shelter or the Wounded Warrior Project.
