Daniel was born December,15, 1971 In Boston, Massachusetts, and throughout his life he made homes in Indianapolis, Indiana, Phoenix, Arizona, and Homer, Alaska. He completed his primary education in the Indianapolis Public Schools, where he began developing the strong work ethic that defined his life.

Daniel was a hardworking and devoted father who loved his children dearly. He enjoyed playing video games, celebrating milestones with his kids, and making them smile. Known for his caring heart and generous nature, Daniel loved people and always found joy in helping and uplifting others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Waller Ward and Clifford Eugene Slash. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving stepfather, Mr. Ward; siblings Charles Slash (Nikki), Terrie Slash, and Patrick Carter, stepsister Amy Baker; his beloved children Tayran Slash, Danielle Slash, Daniel Slash Jr., and Daniel Slash III; four precious grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Daniel will be remembered for his love, laughter, and devotion to family. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
