Daniel Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Mar. 9, 2026.
Daniel William Smith left this world on January 11, 2026, at the age of 60, surrounded

by the love of his family in Beverly, MA. Born on May 5, 1965, in Salem, MA, Dan was a

man whose warmth and humor brought light into the lives of all who knew him.

Dan grew up in Peabody, MA where he developed a passion for cars that lasted a

lifetime, turning his childhood hobby into a successful career as a mechanic. His

passion for cars was evident to anyone who knew him. He wasn't just a man who fixed

cars; he was a craftsman who could listen to an engine and understand its story. His

dedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to the people he served,

earning him respect and friendship in equal measure.

Dan's love for cars extended beyond the garage. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan,

and weekends found him either at the racetrack or engrossed in the race on TV. His

love for automobiles was not just about the machines themselves but about the joy and

excitement they brought to his life.

Outside of his passion for cars, Dan enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots and

tried his best to never miss a game. Above all, Dan cherished time spent with his family

and found the most joy in his role as beloved "Papa", making his grandchildren laugh

with his playful sense of humor.

Dan was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Smith. He is survived by his lifetime

partner, Samantha Pasquarelli; his children, Brittney Smith, Nicole Linscott, and John

Pasquarelli; his beloved grandchildren, Nico Medina, Gianna Medina, Jacob Linscott,

and Noah Linscott; his mother, Adele Smith; his stepmother, Donna Smith; his brother,

Robert Smith; his sister, Kerry Smith; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and

nephews.

Those who knew Dan will remember him as a man who was not only handy but also

funny and friendly. His ability to spin a tale, coupled with his quick wit, made him the life

of any gathering. His presence was a comfort, his laughter contagious, and his

friendship a gift. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loved ones

and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life honoring Dan will be held on Friday, March 20 at 6:00 PM at the

AOH Club on Boston Street, Salem MA. All who knew and loved him are welcome to

attend.
