Daniel Soderquist 1964 – 2023
Beloved son and brother went to be with this Lord and Savior. Well done faithful prayer warrior – you have graduated.
After graduating from Delta High School, he lived and worked in Montrose before moving to Gunnison for employment and skiing opportunities. He became a member of Gunnison Valley Baptist Church, worked in the bookstore, the softball field concession stand, and ran the cash register at the thrift store until he moved back to Montrose for the warmer winters.
He was there to all who needed an empathetic hug or ear to listen. He loved time with his family, a good laugh, Broncos football, horseback riding, skiing, fishing, bowling and swimming.
Life was challenging but his unwavering faith, powerful prayers, infectious smile and positive can-do attitude inspired countless people. His graciousness and smile greatly affected those who helped him. He didn't worry about tomorrow but was present with you in the moment.
We miss you Dan

The Loss Of A Cousin by Collette N. Alaniz {for Dan from Janette E. Lassiter-Smith}
My eyes filled up with tears as I heard the news. It never occurred to me how much I could lose. I find myself wishing that it wasn't real. Every time I think about it, pain is all I can feel. Tears fall from my eyes; I can barely see, But my heart tells me that he'll always be with me. I'm glad he feels no pain now; he lives in a perfect land. I can still feel the soft touch on my shoulder of his loving hand. I lie in bed and cry at night, And, I don't feel any better in the morning light. I will love and miss him forever, Until the day we are again together. Together in that perfect place above, Filled with caring, sharing, and love, But until that day comes - I will wipe my tears away. And hope to see him again someday. -- I love you so much Danny!!

To Dan's loved ones,
We send our love and sympathy to you. Dan was such an inspiration to our family. We have enjoyed sharing memories of Dan these past few weeks. It was our desire to be there on January 12th. We made the decision to watch the live-stream and not take a chance on bad weather. We send you hugs. Dan will always hold a special place in our hearts.
