Daniel "Danny" Sonnick, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, in Holmdel. Born in Manhattan, lived most of his life in the Bayshore area. Danny was a son to the late Warren and Margaret Sonnick.

Though predeceased by his parents, his cherished daughter Patricia Sonnick, his brother Edward Sonnick, and his sister Charlene Bonnelli, Danny's legacy is carried on through his daughter, Michelle Sonnick, his siblings John and Janet Sonnick who stood by him throughout his life. Anthony Sonnick, Neil and Lanie Sonnick, Mary Caparaso, and Barbara and Tom Hoban. His memory is further honored by the laughter and love of his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Danny had an unwavering support for the New York Yankees. Danny's love for his team was only matched by his passion for scratch-off lottery tickets, which brought him small thrills and excitement.

Although Danny was disabled, he was an avid fisherman, Danny's happiest moments were when he was by the water, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. Fishing was more than a hobby for him; it was a time for quiet reflection, an opportunity to be one with nature.

Danny's life was a testament to the simple pleasures that bring richness to our days.

In the quiet of dawn or the cheer of a Yankees game, in the ripple of a fishing line or the scratch of a lottery ticket, we will remember Danny. We will find him in all the small joys he loved so dearly, and in doing so, we will keep his spirit alive forever.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 1PM to 3PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
