Daniel T. Souza Jr.

Daniel T. Souza, Jr. of Taunton and formerly of North Easton passed away suddenly on Monday, December 29th, 2025. He was 39 years old.

Dan was born in Brockton and spent the majority of his childhood in Whitman until he moved to East Bridgewater. He graduated from East Bridgewater High School in 2004.While growing up, he enjoyed playing sports including soccer, basketball, and baseball. He was captain of the Varsity soccer team. Following graduation, Dan entered into the electrical program at Southeastern Technical Institute where he obtained his electrician license.

Dan worked with his hands his entire career. Prior to becoming an electrician, Dan worked alongside his best friend, Nick DiGiovanni, at his construction company, Home and Hearth Builders. After receiving his electrical license, he began working at BETCO in West Bridgewater. Dan was a man of many trades. He referred to himself as a "carpaplumbertrician" and he certainly earned that title.

He met Katie Cunha at a social outing years ago and became inseparable from the start. The two later married on June 25, 2010, and settled down in North Easton where they raised their two children, Amber and Ben.

Dan and Amber shared a passion for sketching. Dan passed down his artistic ability to Amber. He cherished each and every drawing Amber made for him. He loved to spoil her with expensive jewelry just to show how much he loved her.

During his free time, Dan loved going fishing on the Cape Cod Canal and working out alongside his son Ben. Dan started Ben as his apprentice at a young age. They were always building, wiring, and working on jobs together. He loved to be surrounded by nature, whether it was on a hike, or catching the sunrise alongside his beloved dog Caylee at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet.

Dan was extremely funny and always came equipped with witty one-liners and quotes from his favorite comedies. He was caring, generous, and considerate of others, and was always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dan is predeceased by his grandfather "Papa" Simon Peterson and his cousin Nick Souza.

He is survived by his children, Amber and Benjamin Souza of North Easton, and his longtime love and best friend Katie Souza. He was the beloved son of Patricia Polito and her husband William of Bridgewater, and his father Daniel T. Souza, Sr. of Dartmouth. Cherished brother of Chris Souza and his wife Stacey of East Bridgewater, Bryan Souza of Bridgewater, and Melissa Pike and her husband Greg of Pomfret Center, CT. Adored grandson of Marjorie Peterson of East Bridgewater, Nancy Cabral of Raynham, and Ronald Souza of Vermont. Loving uncle of McKenzie, Carter, Camella, Simon, and Melania Souza, and Mason Pike. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins too.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, at Holy Ghost Parish, 518 Washington Street, Whitman, MA 02382 at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan's memory to his favorite charity can be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project or do a kind thing for someone you love.
