Daniel Tackett Obituary Daniel Delaney Tackett, age 93, of Shelby passed away February 20, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born July 20, 1931, in London, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Sina (Crace) Tackett, he had been a Shelby resident for the majority of his life. He was a 1951 graduate of Tiro High School, where he enjoyed playing on the baseball and basketball teams. Following high school, he then joined the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict for three years. He was formerly employed with R.R. Donnelly Co. of Willard, OH, and Bathroom Products Manufacturing as a group leader before moving on to Crane Products, retiring in 1993.
He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #326 in Shelby. He also was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf and church league softball for many years.
He is survived by one brother, Clement (Linda) Tackett of Crestline, OH; and two sisters, Lois (Joe) Eden of Nevada, OH and Mary Laughbaum of Tiro, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Tackett, who passed away on August 26, 2022; brothers Ronnie, Franklin, William, and Norman Tackett; sisters, Dorothy Burns, Edith Roberts, Flossie Lacey, Cindy Young, and Gloria Liepley.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM time at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Lester Champer will officiate with interment in Tiro Oakland Cemetery and military honors to be given by the Richland County Joint Veterans.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Daniel's memory to Ohio Health Hospice, 50 Industrial Drive, Lexington, OH 44904.
