Ross Anderson Obituary Ross Leonard Anderson, age 77, passed away on Thursday, March 2025 at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio.
Ross was born on July 2, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Roland (Bud) and Betty Marie (Brown) Anderson.
His mom taught him to sing at the age of two by repeating songs phrase by phrase. As a teenager, he was a soloist for the Grace Worship Hour radio program. He performed in musicals, like "My Fair Lady", in high school.
After high school, he joined the United States Navy in 1965 and served on the USS Newport News gun cruiser in Vietnam. Following the service, he attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he met and married Louise Hettinger in August of 1970.
After their three children were born in Chicago, they moved to Ohio in 1980 where he eventually settled on a career in the US Postal Service.
Ross enjoyed music all his life and he loved to learn about his Swedish heritage. He enjoyed singing with friends in the United Methodist Church Chori in Shelby. He developed relationships with his Mennonite neighbors and valued being able to provide transportation for them.
Those who cherish his memory include his wife, Louise Anderson, his children: Matthew (Jacqueline) Anderson, Marci (Eric) Asp and Molissa Anderson; his grandchildren: Virginia Anderson, Jack Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Elliot Asp, Olivia Asp and Cor Asp; his siblings: Dean (Theresa) Anderson, David (Rhonda) Anderson and Cyndie Anderson and nieces and nephews.
