Daniel George Thomas, 75, passed away on September 21, 2025, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Born on April 15, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Daniel lived a vibrant and full life marked by hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living.

Throughout his life, Daniel wore many hats-he was a skilled diesel mechanic, a dedicated truck driver, and a reliable bus driver. His hands were never idle for long, and his work ethic reflected his commitment to providing for those around him and staying engaged with the world.

Daniel had a zest for life that was unmistakable. He loved riding motorcycles and found joy in the freedom of the open road. A devoted sports fan, he could often be found watching games of all kinds. Western television shows held a special place in his heart-especially "Gunsmoke," which remained his favorite throughout the years. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him; he had a gentle heart when it came to creatures great and small.

In more recent years, Daniel enjoyed playing online games like backgammon and connecting with friends through conversation and humor. He was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of fun-always ready with a joke or story to brighten someone's day. Those who spent time with him knew they were in the presence of someone who truly lived life without regrets.

Daniel is lovingly remembered by his sister Catherine Thiriot; his daughter Kimberly Boykin; and his granddaughters Addison Boykin and Avery Boykin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Susan Thomas; his parents Agnes and Casimer Thomas; and his brother Edward Thomas.

May the memory of Daniel George Thomas bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived-full of laughter, love, and unyielding spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held on November 8, 2025, at 05:00 PM at St Michael's Episcopal Church, 4000 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055.
