Celebrating the Life of Daniel Vargas It is with both heavy hearts and grateful spirits that we share the passing of Daniel Vargas, age 33, who left us unexpectedly on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born February 5, 1992, to Elizabeth and Alberto Vargas, Daniel was truly one of a kind - the sort of man you wish could stay here forever. Daniel had a gift for finding joy in the little things: cracking jokes that left you laughing until your stomach hurt, sharing a fire-lit night with music and friends, or getting everyone hooked on a funny video he swore you "just had to see." His quick wit, big personality, and legendary storytelling could light up any room. If you heard Daniel laugh - that bold, contagious sound - you didn't forget it. He leaves behind countless memories, the kind that play like favorite songs in our hearts. Daniel's spirit was larger than life, and though his body may no longer be with us, his love, laughter, and strength will forever walk beside his family and friends. Daniel's greatest pride was his children - Marilyn (11), Daniel (10), Jaylee (9), and Aaliyah (8) who will carry his love with them always. He will also be deeply missed by his brother Andres, and sister Erica, along with all who had the privilege of calling him family or friend. The family invites you to celebrate Daniel's life at Visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 2:00–8:00 PM at River Woods Funeral Chapels, 205 S. River Road, Des Plaines, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL, with interment immediately following at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL. In Daniel's honor, we encourage you to tell a joke, share a story, laugh a little louder, and cherish the little moments - just as he always did.
