Rosalie J. Stanfa

Rosalia Giuseppina Franzella-Stanfa Born July 5th, 1959 – Entered Eternal Rest August 18th, 2025. Rosalia Stanfa was welcomed into her eternal home on August 18th, 2025, after a courageous battle with bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). She was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe (1960) and Guadenzia Franzella (2017). Rosalia was the beloved wife of Salvatore Stanfa; cherished mother of Nick Stanfa, Ann-Marie Stanfa, and Claudia Stanfa; devoted Nonna to Olivia Stanfa and Liliana Stanfa; and loving sister of Rosa (Vito) Sangiorgi and Bernadette (Pat) Galvano. Born in Roccamena, Sicily, and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Rosalia later settled in Des Plaines, Illinois, where she and Salvatore raised their three children. Rosalia devoted her life to her family, and her greatest joy was found in caring for them. Anyone who knew Rosalia knew her passion for cooking and baking. She poured her love into every meal she prepared, creating not only nourishing food but also treasured memories for her family and friends. She always loved to laugh and joke around and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile. Her warmth, humor, and generosity will be remembered always. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22nd, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at River Woods Funeral Chapels – 205 S. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016. Interment will take place the following day-Saturday, August 23rd, at 10:00 am at River Woods Funeral Chapels, followed by a procession to All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
